10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Saturday, 13th April PROGRAMME Orchestral Works by Dmitri Shostakovich Symphony No. 1, F Minor, opus 10, First movement, Allegretto Symphony No. 1, Second movement, Allegro Dmitri Shostakovich’s First Symphony may be the greatest graduation project of all time. Composed at the age of 18, it took the international music world by storm. Equally impressive were the enormous obstacles the young composer had to face in the years leading up to this momentous debut. Plus, a new commissioned work by Cheltenham composer, Paige Halliwell

Newent luthier, Phil Harding, maker and repairer of fine violins and violas, will set up a demonstration in the hall to provide a service for all string players' needs. Phil will be aided by his apprentice maker,

Pay on the day (contactless), but advance booking essential Bring your music, music stand and a packed lunch. Local shops, pubs and tea rooms will be open.
Final play-through at 3:15 p.m when the hall will be open for an audience of friends and family, free of charge.
