New Members
Please come and join us! We are a friendly, welcoming group with a wide range of playing abilities.
In addition to the opportunity to develop your musical skills and confidence, and arranging performance occasions, there are workshops, additional support and tuition, and social events, such as our orchestra picnic in the summer, and we have a low membership cost (see opposite). Many members can't attend every rehearsal and this is fine, if you are a busy person or have family commitments. In particular, there are always places for proficient string players, especially double bass. There are also places for oboe and French horn. We welcome the young and the experienced! Concerts, workshops and other events are arranged at local venues and the orchestra rehearses between September and June. Rehearsals take place weekly from 10.00 to 12.00 midday at Newent Community Centre on Ross Road, Newent GL18 1BD. The centre has excellent rehearsal facilities and ample parking. |
Come and join us. Membership is £50.00 per annum, free for under 18s. NB, there are about 30 rehearsals a year, so full membership works out at a cool £1.65 per rehearsal. |
