Newent Classical Music Club
Supported by Newent Orchestra, Newent Community School & St Mary's Church
Newent Classical Music Club (NCMC) is a group for beginner/intermediate musicians who play together for fun and to learn. The guide requirement is Grade 3, plus. (If you are a complete beginner you can also contact us for guidance and advice for your learning.)
It is for secondary school music students, adult learners and those who would like to get back into playing music, for example, adults who played in their youth but then gave up. If you lack confidence but would like to play in a group (or just listen), if you are a learner and want to feel comfortable playing pieces in your comfort zone, this is the group for you. Find out what playing in an orchestra is all about! For experienced musicians, you will be playing music without concert pressure so you can focus on details, such as dynamics and articulation, and improve your sound quality. Rehearsals will include an element of learning about the history of classical music as well as how to play it. To sign up, express your interest, or ask for more details, please use the form below. Include your instrument and experience so far. |
Rehearsals
Led by Bill Anderton, weekly rehearsals during term time will begin on Tuesday, 17th September at St Mary's church, Newent, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. The cost is free for students. Adults can make a voluntary donation (suggested, £2.00 per rehearsal).
NCMC is supported by Newent Orchestra, Newent Community School Music and St Mary's Church. View and join our Facebook group:
