Diary Dates
Here's a useful list
of both regular and individual events
worth noting in your diary:
Strings Clinic: for
orchestra string players (members only), there will be a "clinic" after
rehearsal on Saturday, 27 March. Given by maker and repairer, Phil Harding, this
will be an oppotunity to seek advice on all aspects of maintaining your instrument in good
order.
Spring Concert: will be the "Newent Music Heritage
Concert", celebrating 70 years of music making in Newent, 7:30 p.m., 15 May, 2010,
Memorial Hall, Newent.
Newent Music Heritage
Exhibition: at Newent Library from 1 - 22 May; at the
Market Hall, 1 - 3 May; at the Memorial Hall, 15 May. This will include photos,
press cuttings, map, memorabilia, music scores and books, archive material and information
about our local music heritage. The exhibition will be focused around composer,
Rutland Boughton, record producer, Joe Meek and, of course, our orchestra. Entry at
all venues is free.
Orchestra Rehearsals: Saturdays, 10.00 a.m. - 12.00 are at
