Diary Dates

Here's a useful list of both regular and individual events
worth noting in your diary:

Orchestra Rehearsals: Saturdays, 10.00 - 12.00 noon,
Upleadon Village Hall

Chamber Group for Strings: meets monthly at Pauntley Court. Next meeting, Thursday, 22 May at 7.30 p.m (currently rehearsing: Dittersdorf Quartet, Distler Quartet and Mozart Divertimenti No. 1).

Spring Concert: Sat., 17 May, 2008, Memorial Hall, 7.30 p.m.

Soloist, Alice Earll Programme is based around local musicians as both soloist and composer and includes the Bruch Violin Concerto in G Minor, soloist Alice Earll who lives in Kempley; "Three Folk Dances" by Rutland Boughton who lived in Kilcot, just outside Newent, and first performance of a piece written specially for the orchestra, "The Well-Tempered Orchestra", by leader, Bill Anderton.
Tickets can be purchased from Newent Tourist Information Centre, £6.00 (£5.00 concession); or
on the door, £8.00 (£7.00).

Orchestral Summer Workshop: Sat., 28 June, Newent Memorial Hall, 9.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m. This will involve a day's rehearsal of Mendelssohn's Italian Symphony, with a performance at the end of the afternoon.  The event will be open to non-orchestra members and the performance will be free for the audience (friends, family, etc.).  Please let us know as soon as possible if you will be attending as a player - there will no charge for non-orchestra members.
